With over two decades of experience teaching Spanish to many adults from diverse backgrounds, I've honed my skills to cater to various learning styles and preferences. Certified by ELE International (ELE - Español como lengua extranjera) which means "Spanish as a foreign language). I am passionate about helping students achieve fluency and confidence in the Spanish language.
My patience and empathetic approach, combined with my ability to create a fun and supportive learning environment, has helped countless students overcome language barriers and gain confidence. Whether it's one-on-one tutoring, group classes, or online sessions, I am committed to delivering engaging and effective lessons that inspire language learning.
Drawing on my experience as the author of "Cómo Enseñar Español a Personas de Habla Inglesa" (How to teach Spanish to English speakers) and my background in counselling, I am able to provide personalized support and guidance to each of my students.

My journey to becoming a Spanish language instructor began in 1997 when I immigrated to Canada with limited English. I enrolled in university to learn English as a Second Language. There, I had my first opportunity to teach Spanish. One of my English teachers offered to exchange English tutoring for Spanish lessons. Though I was unsure how to structure a lesson, his guidance and experience helped me develop my teaching skills. As word of mouth spread, more neighbors and acquaintances requested Spanish lessons. This experience not only honed my teaching abilities, but also ignited a passion for sharing the beauty of the Spanish language. I’ve always believed in tailoring my lessons to each student’s unique needs and learning style. My approach is patience, understanding, and flexibility, ensuring a fun and effective learning experience. This early experience solidified my commitment to teaching, leading me to pursue formal certification through ELE International (Español como lengua extranjera). Now, as a certified instructor, I’m excited to bring my expertise to Vancouver, BC. After spending several years in my home country, I’m eager to connect with new students and help them achieve their language goals
